Class of 1966 Welcome Message:
Class of 1966,
Our 50th Wake Forest Reunion will be October 28-29, so mark your calendars and make plans to be back for this milestone event. We want as many class members back as possible with this year’s Homecoming and Reunion Weekend promising to be bigger and better than ever. On Friday morning, we will become Golden Deacs as we are inducted into the Half-Century Club, which will begin two days of not-to-be-missed events. Check out all the new additions to campus as well as old favorites during the campus open house. Enjoy a Homecoming campus-wide celebration under the tent on Mag Quad for Party So Dear featuring the Motown group The Spinners.
Friday evening will be our 50th Reunion dinner on campus where it all began with Dr. Ed Wilson (‘43), provost emeritus as our guest speaker. On Saturday we can enjoy the Festival on the Quad, campus tours, the alumni tailgate and the WFU/Army football game to name a few highlights.
We are putting together a class memory page and what fun it is to read what everyone has been up to for the last 50 years! Please take a moment and send in your update by clicking on the link below. Just click on the link below.
Our class has been issued a challenge by a fellow class member to set a new 50th Reunion giving record to the Wake Forest Fund. He will match up to $100,000 for any new or additional gifts to our class campaign. As of the end of June, our class was at 61% participation and $168,000. Our goal is to get to at least 62% and $268,000, but wouldn’t it be great to get 66% for the Class of 1966! Currently, the Class of 1965 holds the record with 61% participation and $267,000. If you haven’t made your gift yet, please do soon! The challenge will run through Homecoming Weekend and every gift makes a difference and will qualify for the match. Let’s each do our part to make our class number one!
Event registration is now open. Contact your friends, make your reservations, and keep checking this website for more information as the weekend gets closer.
We look forward to seeing each of you for this memorable weekend!
Once a Deacon, always a Deacon,
