Your favorite, secret campus spot (and everyone else’s) is turning 100 years old. Remember jogging the trails at Reynolda? Bloody Marys and chips at the Tavern? The first time you walked into the Reception Hall at Reynolda House? Playing frisbee on the front lawn while the cherry blossoms blew petals across the gardens?
This year is Reynolda’s centennial, and the Alumni Office wants to make sure you know all the ways that you can join in the celebrations. Here’s how to catch up with what’s going on with Reynolda in this milestone year. (Hint – you’re not going to want to miss a thing!)
Do tell: what’s your favorite memory of Reynolda House, Reynolda Gardens, or Reynolda Village? Reynolda’s storytelling team wants to add your story to their collection! - Georgia O’Keeffe: Living Modern
The first exhibition to exhibit Georgia O’Keeffe’s personal wardrobe alongside her paintings and photographs opens August 18 at Reynolda House, its only venue south of New York. Georgia O’Keeffe: Living Modern will present a completely new perspective on the unified modernist aesthetic of O’Keeffe’s dress and art. This “refreshing exhibition,” as reviewed by The New York Times, explores the “single powerful aesthetic” of Georgia O’Keeffe “in an era long before widespread branding…that was foundational to her fame and her myth.”
